Friends of Coddington School

Welcome to the Friends of Coddington

They say it takes a village to raise a child, well Coddington has risen to the challenge. Friends of Coddington School is open to the whole community, you don’t have to be a parent or teacher to get involved, everyone is welcome.

Here you can find out about who we are and what we do as a committee, how your donations and fundraising benefit the pupils of Coddington CofE Primary and Nursery school, as well as how you can get involved and become a dedicated part of the FCS team.

You can always get in touch with the FCS committee by dropping us an email or catching us on the playground during drop off or pick up.

We'll regularly update the FCS Event and Fundraising Blog with news, information, so please keep popping back to see what new.

What We Do

We are a committed team of volunteers made up of parents and carers with links to the school. We work closely Mrs Major and the wider school team to organise and host fundraising activities and events.

While we’re all about raising important funds for the school, we do this at the same time as giving all children fun and memorable moments that will last them a lifetime.

How we raise money

During 24/25, we have organised:

  • School discos
  • Coddington Christmas Fair
  • Christmas Raffle
  • Mother’s and Father's Day pop-up shops
  • Coddington Community Summer Fête
  • Frozen Fridays/ Pop-Up Shops
  • Pre-loved uniform sales
  • School Lottery

There are lots of other ways to support us..

Did you know we have a school lottery? Prizes are drawn each week and you could win. Join via https://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/school/coddington-c-of-e-primary-and-nursery-school

At the end of December 2024, one of our school parents scooped a massive £25,000 (it really does happen).

Shop and raise funds - make purchases online via https://share.easyfundarising.org.uk/friendsofcoddingtonschool and Friends of Coddington will receive money from each purchase.

Matched funding - some employers offer matched funding for fundraising efforts from their employees. If your company offers this, and you would like to support the school, please contact us.

How The Money Raised Is Spent

We spend the money in a variety of ways, from additional class resources, outdoor play and learning equipment to unique opportunities.

In 2024/2025, we have funded an Outdoor Classroom and sensory garden (totalling over £25,000), £1,5000 funding towards Reflect and Reset baskets for every classroom, year 6 leavers gifts and funds towards additional reading resources for "The Liam Andrew Library".

How Can You Help

Friends of Coddington are always looking for new members, to help bring new ideas to the table, organise fundraising events as well as support with the hosting and delivery of events.

Everyone with a link to Coddington CofE Primary and Nursery School is free to join. Whether you’re a parent or carer, family member, or part of the wider community,  the FCS is keen for your involvement! We also welcome support from any business that would like to work with us or support us.

  • Give us as much or as little time as you can spare
  • Volunteer at our big events such as Christmas Fairs or Summer Fêtes
  • Spare 1/2 hours at our discos or pop-up shops
  • Attend meetings - held twice a term
  • Share ideas of fundraising things we could do
  • Assist us with grant applications
  • Any support is always welcome, big or small

If you are interested in becoming a member or supporting us in anyway, please drop us an email or find us on Facebook – Friends of Coddington School.

What our volunteers say:

“I joined the FCS because I wanted to play a part in fundraising for the children and a chance to be involved in planning lots of exciting events. I have an idea for Mother’s Day to do a raffle for an Eden Hall voucher which raised over £500 which was a great result! It’s a great feeling knowing that the work we do helps to raise funds for the school and the children that attend”.
Hayley (joined September 2024)
“I joined FCS because I wanted to be part of making memorable memories for all the children whilst they are at Coddington School. So far, I’ve been involved at meetings, and I help at events where I can, such as school discos or Christmas fairs. To be a part of a team who are so welcoming and friendly, who make such an effort to raise funds, create memories and experiences that will last a lifetime, is amazing and regarding, and I can’t wait to be a part of next year's planning”.
Cherry (joined September 2024)

“I wanted to become involved to make sure my second child was given lots of memorable opportunities at Coddington that my eldest son didn’t get due to lockdown. All the great events happen because of volunteers, and I’m keen to make sure it continues to be a success”. Natalie (joined September 2023)

“I joined FCS because I wanted to create lasting memories for my child when he started at school. I remembered as a child all the fun I had at the after-school discos and other experiences.

It’s a great community, and it brings everyone together to raise money for resources and activities that enrich the pupils' experiences. Everyone is really welcoming and friendly, and it's been great to be part of such an amazing team.

"I’ve enjoyed helping on the stalls at the Christmas fair and meeting with the other parents/ carers to share ideas and plan future events”.

Megan (joined September 2024)
