Parents & Community

Friends of Coddington School

Welcome to the Friends of Coddington

They say it takes a village to raise a child, well Coddington has risen to the challenge. Friends of Coddington School is open to the whole community, you don’t have to be a parent or teacher to get involved, everyone is welcome.

Here you can find out about who we are and what we do as a committee, how your donations and fundraising benefit the pupils of Coddington CofE Primary and Nursery school, as well as how you can get involved and become a dedicated part of the FCS team.

You can always get in touch with the FCS committee by dropping us an email or catching us on the playground during drop off or pick up.

We'll regularly update the FCS Event and Fundraising Blog with news, information, so please keep popping back to see what new.

What We Do

We are a committed team of volunteers made up of parents and carers with links to the school. We work closely Mrs Major and the wider school team to organise and host fundraising activities and events.

While we’re all about raising important funds for the school, we do this at the same time as giving all children fun and memorable moments that will last them a lifetime.

How we raise money

During 22/23, we have organised:

  • 5p challenge
  • Pyjama day, pre-loved book sale and hot chocolates
  • School discos
  • Mother’s and Father’s day pop up shops
  • Coddington Community Coronation Big Lunch
  • Frozen Fridays
  • Pre-loved uniform sales
  • Bounce-about fun day

There are lots of other ways to support us..

Did you know we have a school lottery? Prizes are drawn each week and you could win. Join via https://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/school/coddington-c-of-e-primary-and-nursery-school

Shop and raise funds - make purchases online via https://share.easyfundarising.org.uk/friendsofcoddingtonschool and Friends of Coddington will receive money from each purchase.

Matched funding - some employers offer matched funding for fundraising efforts from their employees. If your company offers this and you would like to support the school please contact us.

How The Money Raised Is Spent

We spend the money in a variety of ways, from additional class resources, outdoor play and learning equipment to unique opportunities such as a year 6 university trip. In 2022/2023 we provided new atlases and globes for every class, a huge outdoor geography board showing Coddington school in relation to the UK and the world, and with support from Little Liam’s Legacy, we’ve donated £6,685 to overhaul the school library.

How Can You Help

Friends of Coddington are always looking for new members, to help bring new ideas to the table, organise fundraising events as well as support with the hosting and delivery of events.

Everyone with a link to Coddington CofE Primary and Nursery School is free to join. Whether you’re a parent or carer, family member, or part of the wider community,  the FCS is keen for your involvement! We also welcome support from any business that would like to work with us or support us.

If you are interested in becoming a member or supporting us in anyway, please drop us an email or find us on Facebook – Friends of Coddington School.

What our volunteers say:

“I joined the FCS because I wanted to be part of something that gives back to the school and our children. Raising money through the FCS not only provides the children with additional resources to support their learning but also helps us create memories for all children whilst at Coddington”. Leanne

“I volunteer to help the FCS because they are all parents wanting the best for their children and their education. They volunteer their time to help better the school’s facilities and provide the children with experiences like school discos, that help to make school a fun experience”. Olivia

“I wanted to become involved to make sure my second child was given lots of memorable opportunities at Coddington that my eldest son didn’t get due to lockdown. All the great events happen because of volunteers and I’m keen to make sure it continues to be a success”. Natalie

“When I was at school it was the social events and fundraisers that made it so fun and memorable, and I’m keen for my children to experience that too. It brings communities together and helps families get to know each other. This all makes school a better place and raises money at the same time!” Claire
